Yesterday morning, as we began our 4 hour journey home, we had lots to reflect on. We had just spent the week-end in Northhumberland, near the Scottish border. One of the couples that is on their way to PNG was being sent off by their home church Sunday morning. We were very blessed to have a small part in that service.
Saturday evening was spent with an elder and his wife from the assembly. They live in such a beautiful spot - on top of a ‘hill’ on a massive farmland, with beautifully sculptured trees in the front lawn, and castle ruins in the back yard. There was just too much to take in on my morning walk around their attractive property. Using their gift of hospitably, they made sure they spoiled us with great home cooked meals and a tremendous view from our bedroom.
Love, care and respect was shown to this young family on Sunday morning as people shared how much they appreciated them and wanted to be involved in their ministry overseas. We are thankful that we were able to be part of that service where Ragnar briefly shared from our experience overseas how their home church could be behind them in their new endeavor in PNG.
We spent that night with the family that is on their way to Asia later this month. So many things were familiar from our trips in the past - piles of things to store, boxes packed to ship, things to give away etc. They are staying with family this month which is a big help in getting last minute things ready. This family owns a lovely Bed & Breakfast and they graciously invited us to come back and stay with them for a holiday. How kind - and how could we say ‘no thanks’ to that?!?!?
