During the summer we can fly directly from London to the Faroes, so our recent trip, for a Niclasen family reunion, seemed like a breeze.
We are getting close - even though it is 9:15 p.m., we still had plenty of daylight.
We'll soon be landing.
A little detour on the way home, to show our cousin, who was traveling with us for her first trip to the Faroes, this beautiful spot. It is after 10:00 p.m.
The next morning, Ragnar and I joined his brother, Olavur and our cousin, Marie, hiking up the mountain. A view from the top looking down on our Faroese home town.

We are nearing the top.
Can you see them at the top, on their way back down?I went back down ahead of them to get some pictures.
In the evening, Olavur (Ragnar's brother) took us on a trip out to sea in his little fishing boat.

Our home town, Klaksvik, in the background.
The following day we attended the Niclasen Family Reunion.
We gathered in the old part of the capital city.
I love the buildings with grass roofs.
Listening to one of their cousisns, who had done lots of research, sharing some family history.
Then lots of us walked to the site of the old family home, where we learned more details about the Niclasens.
Next came an evening meal, speeches and singing.Lots of yummy food to choose from.
Ragnar's parents, Eivind and Elly Niclasen. He is the only one of his generation still living.
