Chatsworth House

A large country house in Chatsworth, which has been selected as the UK favorite country house several times.

From our home - about a 3 hour drive, one way.

Chatworth's House appeared in the 2005 film adaptation of Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice. It represented Mr. Darcy's home.
We have had 3 lovely, young German girls volunteering in our nursery this past year.
Although we have had them in our home many times this past year, either for a meal, a 'knitting class' or our Saturday evening Open House, I had been trying to think of something special to do with them before the end of the school year.
Should it be bowling or out to lunch or to a nearby beach or????
When someone shared with me that they were interested in seeing the Chatsworth House, I knew right away that that is what I would like to do with them.

helped me pick the date - and we were on our way.
First we had a tour of the house,
where we saw lots of interesting, old furniture,

and learned lots of history.

Of the 126 rooms, close to 100 rooms can be viewed by visitors.

The fantastic garden covers 105 acres.

We could see why it is one of the most famous gardens in England.
