Wanting to see both Joffa and
the Mediterranean Sea in daylight, I got up early enough to walk back down along the beautiful seashore before breakfast.
Walking by and listening to the waves was so peaceful.
Our tour of the Holy Land began by heading north to the Sea of Galilee.
While on our way to Caesarea Maritime we enjoyed the relaxing drive along the beautiful coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
Interesting stops today –
Roaming around Caesarea Maritime sure was an eye opener to the lifestyle of the early Christians.
It was here that Cornelius the Centurion and his household were saved and baptized (Acts 10); where Pontius the Pilate lived and where Paul made his defense before Festus and King Agrippa (Acts 25;26).
It is also where the first Olympics were held.
Not far away was another interesting stop - a 12 mile aqueduct built by the Romans.
Mt. Carmel - I Kings 18:17-46 became more alive as we were on top of the coastal mountain range, where Elijah issued his challenge to the False Prophets.
Valley of Armageddon – where we saw the amazing remains from Solomon’s Palace and wandered around the site where the Battle of Armageddon will be fought.

Nazareth – since the town has been growing and developing in the last 2000 years, we had to use our imagination to try and picture what it was like in Jesus childhood days. We enjoyed a walk thru the quaint little town though.
Cana of Galilee – we drove through the town of Cana, where Jesus performed his 1st public miracle – the turning of water into wine at a wedding feast.
Tiberias – we spent the night in Tiberas, located on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. We had a great view of the Sea from our room. In the evening we walked down to the Sea and did a little tour of the town.
